Alright so as most of you know I'm about to quit my job and it's gonna be awesome. If anybody is going on a cool road trip or anything anytime soon just let me know and I'll put in my 2 weeks and go with you. If nothing is really going on I'm just going to quit when Zoe graduates (July 31st) because if nothing's going on, I might as well spend the day online and get paid for it. I know I'll be super thrifty when I'm jobless - so while I'm working I've been buying the coolest shit!! Nothing that major just a bunch of things I've wanted for years and years and years but was too busy saving up money to treat myself to this kind of (sort of useless) stuff.
Anyways here's some shit I've bought recently that I'm stoked on:

That last one, "WHO DUNNIT" is actually a double that I would get rid of pretty easily. So if anybody wants it (Bryan May?) just let me know. Just buy me a beer or dinner or give me a ride somewhere, whatever.
I got a nice knife too. It's not technically a switchblade but it's still pretty tough.
I'm finishing a bottle of limited STONE - SUBLIMELY SELF RIGHTEOUS ALE and it's fuckin awesome. Everything I love about an IPA mixed with everything I love about a dark beer, 8.7%ABV - this shit is really good, definitely gonna try and nab the rest of them from the store on my lunch break tomorrow.
I gotta jet but I'm watching Gummo on surround sound right now and it's kind of a weird experience. Also I'm starting to look more and more into living in Austin, TX for a bit. You guys like it? Probably moving to LA after I quit my job but THE FUTURE IS A MACHINE and the blueprint hasn't been quite laid out yet so give me some design tips.

11:04 pm - OC Register Courts and Crime
|
My dad was in the OC Register today! I found a bunch of pics online. He's lookin pretty haggard!
Judge weighs arguments in Rancho bridge death case
Here's the pics, dude:

It's some court case where people keep jumping over the center divider on the Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy bridge over the nature corridor/O'neill Park/Trabuco Creek:

and the thing is - they're not looking before they leap! See that big ass gap in between the two lanes? Obviously they don't, because they jump the center divider in an attempt to cross to the other side and they fall 75 feet down and die. My dad's a defense lawyer so he's defending Rancho Santa Margarita.
--------------------------------
While browsing the OC Register's Crime-Courts online section I noticed they have a listing of Orange County's Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. And that's where I saw the following:

and here's my myspace pic from a couple years ago:

I found some new part of the OC Register that lets you view the Most Wanted Fugitives. This dudes pic was at the top of the list and right away I was like "haha that dude looks like Dopey & Crow" - then when I read the thing about him, it says his alias is DOPEY and he's part of the CROW gang!! Too coincidental!! I'm not convinced it's the same person but do you guys at least see the similarities or am I crazy??
A little backstory - this was in Long Beach mid-January 2007, so about 2 weeks after the murder happened. These guys were out celebrating because Dopey (in the middle) just "got out of jail" so his cousin on the right "Crow" was hanging out with him in Long Beach. They claimed to be from Compton, Dopey had "WATTS" tattooed all across his head and all sorts of other gang shit. Oh, and he SAID he got out of jail for grand theft auto "and some other bullshit". I asked him what kind of car he stole (naturally) and it was a Lincoln Town Car. I don't know if that supports the "suspect is not known to have a vehicle" part or not.
So am I crazy or do those guys kiiiinda look the same or what?

9:03 pm - ...more of me bitching about work
|
So I've been at the job for 2 months exactly now. So far the highlight has definitely been doing the foreclosure on Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch:

and having Fox News calling me constantly because my name's on the contact, only to have my boss pick up the phone and start singing "Beat It" before hanging up on them.
but it sucks that my commute went from this:

to this:

but it rules that my bank account went from this:

to this:

Honestly it's pretty miserable. Working 8am-5pm Monday-Friday might not sound that bad to most people, but it's just not the way I function. What happened to "working a 9 to 5"? I would LOVE to start work at 9. But fuck it, hopefully this is just temporary to get me relocated and then I'll figure something else out from there. Serious though fuckin monotonous boring miserable work. Watching hundreds of people lose their homes every day because they couldn't afford that last $3,000 payment on their dream house in Modesto or some shit. On the other hand, I do get a lot of public figures losing their homes. Usually if the house is worth over $10 million or so, I'll google them and find that they fucked over tons of poor people and are now losing their homes due to fines and stuff like that.
The other somewhat redeeming thing is coming across funny names, such as:
 YVETTE HARDON
 BERTRAM HISCOCK (BERT RAM-HIS-COCK)
 MARIA JUANA
 GUSTAVO MORON
 BRANDY COCAGNE (Brandy & Cocaine)
 SONNY MANY-WANGS
 ANGEL THOR
This one is just cute, but - HUIE D LOVELADY A SINGLE MAN
Here's a picture of me SLAM DUNKIN the Hendersen Account
but besides that, I went to the Long Beach Aquarium:
 saw some jellyfish
and a leafy sea dragon (that's not a plant it's an animal!!!)
 and a mudskipper
and we saw sharks DOING IT in the touch tank!!!!!!!
and Zoe is cool and my bike is cool.

7:35 pm - new bike
|

just got a new bike. mid-90's mongoose. i gotta shorten up the chain. i was thinking about putting white or blue tires on, but now that it's sitting here in front of me i kinda like the blacked out wheels/tires combo. kind of reminds me of Terminator 2. definitely want some sort of streamers from the bars. how else should i accessorize this beast? this is how i rewarded myself for getting my first paycheck. plunkin $40 down on this bad boy.

1:24 am - quick update - got a job - christmas presents - etc
|
here's what i got for christmas:
TomTom One Xl-S. I'm stoked. At first I considered returning it so I could get a digital camera. Glad I didn't do that. I've used this every day since I've had it. I love it. I can play with this thing all day.
 got some new vans
gift certificate to Vans got me some new black jeans. the waist is way baggy and the legs are a little tighter, so they fit kinda weird but i like them. only downside is i have to wear a belt with them, and i'm allergic to belts or something. i get a rash where the metal belt buckle touches my skin. gotta figure out a way around that.
new years/1 year: new years eve marked mine and zoe's official 1 year anniversary. we've actually been dating for about 17-18 months or something like that. we didn't do anything special because i had no cash. well, we went to a new year's eve party at ian's house in the unincorporated hills of santa ana, but nothing relationshipish. new year's eve party was cool. didn't see a lot of my friends, but this new year's was fucked up as is. nobody could get their shit together until the last minute. kind of reminds me of how all of 2007 was. 2007 was kind of a shitstorm (with the exception of being with zoe).
new job: i found out i start work tomorrow. i start in about 7 hours. i should go to sleep. i make $10/hr to ruin people's lives forever. from my understanding i write letters to people who can't afford to pay for their houses letting them know we're taking their house away from them. then we auction the house off. it's a foreclosure company. should be depressing as hell. it's right down the street from old town tustin. i don't know what to wear.
denied beer: this isn't a big deal but i'm tired of people not selling me beer. normally it's because they think my ID isn't really me, which is understandable because my picture is from almost 10 years ago. last night the dude wouldn't sell me a can of sparks because he thought i was too drunk. i hadn't even started drinking yet! (okay i had a sparks earlier but still).
i'm hungry: dude i'm so hungry right now. and thirsty too.

so i bought some new clothes to kind of diversify my closet in hopes of landing a cool job -
the shirt is actually brown and the pants on the right are more of a brown plaid. the ones on the left are just gray slacks. this is what turns up on the h&m site when you shop for that stuff though. i even got the grey slacks tailored so they're a little bit shorter! business man.

Fred Perry's were on sale for cheap at Marshall's, so i'm lookin s.h.a.r.p.
i got into a drunken argument with zoe last night over different reggae subgenres. dancehall seriously does kind of suck. besides that went to a couple parties
party 1 - andy sigal's house, tustin, ca: i guess i got there right after some dude put his dick through a cupcake and pissed on all the other cupcakes (while his dick was still through a cupcake). some dudes went to von's to steal 1.75L bottles of captain morgan's, on the way back a couple of them got busted for "reckless behavior in a crosswalk" or some other charge i've never heard of, in addition to weed possession. i guess he jumped out in front of a cop car or something, i don't know. we left around midnight to go to party #2.
party 2 - elijah's house for aimee's birthday, santa ana, ca: by this time i was pretty drunk, but i saw a lot of friends i don't see very often and had a great time. all the east village workshops/santa ana loft/santa ana koo's people. i had tons of fun. zoe got ballsy and decided to take over DJ duties which is kind of a risky maneuver but she reigned supreme. mostly stuck to 90's booty mixes but everyone was dancing and having fun. you could wring the sweat out of my shirt on the way home. there was a ton of food, too, including some basil guacamole which tasted really good but sounds really weird when i'm writing it out. i don't know it was just really fun and there were a ton of people there and they were all people i was genuinely really excited to see.
i guess that's about it for now. i went through my closet and pulled a bunch of shit out that doesn't fit me anymore, it's all up for grabs. basically all stuff i wore that was too small for me in the first place (the sassy '01's thru '03 or whatever) that's wayyy too small for me now. or stuff that might kind of fit me but i just never wore since i bought it. in cleaning out my closet, i found a ton of old shirts i bought because they were cool but a little big for me at the time. those all fit me now. cool i guess.
okay it's 10:10pm on a saturday night and i'm typing a livejournal entry. i'm gonna stop now. adios!

i know haters gonna hate - but i seriously love the rolling stones.
( playlist for today: )
saw NORBIT the other day. wasn't as good as i thought it'd be. went to GAMES PLUS tonight. was just as good as i thought it'd be. TANNER turned 21 tonight and i'm excited for that. a local dude to hang out with and get shitty with. i quit my job (STOKED) and am sick of gelato. working in a place with great all you can eat food made me gain 25 pounds. here's the difference: BEFORE:

AFTER: (aka 25 pounds later)
i've actually gotten a lot more muscley but only in one arm, which is kind of weird
and i know these pics are kind of gay but what the heck am i supposed to do about it.
i just made some pretty awful soup: cold fuccili (sp?) pasta. tons of olive oil pepper potpourri (its like red and white and black pepper) dried basil flakes cayenne pepper tons and tons and tons of rosemary balsamic vinegar more olive oil a pound of mozzarella cheese two slices of provolone
my goal is to be the fattest man in the universe! if i don't respond to this lj entry it's because my neck is blocking off my typing ability.

7:55 pm - job situation
|
My last (somewhat drunk) entry kind of covered this a little, but just to recap:
I got a new computer and a new 21" LCD monitor. 21" doesn't sound that large when I type it out, but sitting here in front of it on my tiny desk it seriously looks huge. Especially when I look to the right and see my 15" CRT I've used for over 10 years. I have the computer hooked up to my stereo again, which is cool. I transferred the music from my iPod onto the hard drive, but I'm still missing SO much stuff I had on my old computer. If anybody has any music or pictures that you think I might be interested, send them my way!
Richard "Iceman" Kuklinski, who claims to have murdered over 100 people while working as a hitman for the mob
I'm still working at Gelato Classico, but things are completely different now. It's ran by three or four Sicilian guys, and the more and more I read about the American Mafia the more and more I'm convinced they're using our shop as a front for money laundering. Definitely plenty of traits reminiscent of The Pizza Connection trials in the 80's. They buy a small Italian shop, they don't have us use the cash registers, we just write down on a piece of paper how much money we've been making. Cash goes in one column, credit and checks in the other. The credit and checks are obviously traceable, the cash isn't. They plan on opening up a few more shops in the near future, in Huntington Beach and a couple other beach cities. Pretty much exactly what happened with the Pizza Connection in New York, as well as any other captive business money laundering ploy.
Besides the gelato shop/italian deli/east coast eatery/whatever they want to call it, the other family business is a psychic/palm reading/tarot shop. This freaks me out because the dude whose family runs that business is ALWAYS confronting me about stuff that I'm thinking but feel I'm giving no indication of it. The other boss' previous job was working at a head shop. Neither of those jobs seem THAT profitable, but somehow these guys are just absolutely loaded with money. They've brought their kids in a few times, the kids are really nice and pleasant. Always making jokes at each other's expense, but seem to get along pretty well. They're all very interested in hearing about my life, which makes it easy for me to ask them about their life. Their parents won't really talk about it, but the kids are quick to speak of all the "favors" they encounter.
I couldn't find any pictures of the Lexus IS500 besides not very high quality "spy" pictures on auto preview sites
The boss had me move his car the other day. I was scared to death. It was a Lexus IS500. I thought that Lexus had lost some of their standing as "hot cars to have" since the mid-90's, but this thing was insanely nice. Way nicer than any car I can remember being in. And actually, now that I google it (to try to find a price or something) I see that it's not even released yet. They are driving this car (and letting me drive it) before anyone can even buy it. The kids told me this car (and all their other cars) come to them as favors as well. Not completely free, but they claimed they could get $50,000 cars for $15,000. The boss and his kids have both, on separate occassions, invited me to go clubbing with them at LAX and the Standard because they have buddies there who will get us full VIP everything.
I don't know, I could talk about this forever. The list goes on and on. It's keeping the job interesting, but I really really want to quit. I'm basically only staying because I feel bad for my coworkers. At this point I don't feel obligated to be there by the boss or anything. We get out first paychecks tomorrow, I'll see how the pay is. They keep saying they're going to hook us up and take good care of us, but who knows if that's all just big talk at this point.
Picture post coming up next.

oh! and also!
what kind of bullshit is THIS?!?!

I got a ticket for going "70+" mph on the fucking 405 freeway by South Coast Plaza. Who DOESN'T go 70+ mph on the 405!! Especially when you're the only car on the freeway. I was coming back from Santa Barbara and wanted to get home and go to sleep, so I set my cruise control at 75mph. I was clocked at 70 (5 above the speed limit) and now my court date is coming up.
Oh, and my work got bought out by some company called EAT MY MEAT and they want to change it into a New York style Deli where all the waitresses have "the biggest tits you've ever seen". They've offered me a job there, along with a pay increase, but the dudes are pretty scummy and not sure if I'll actually end up there. So far one of them (it's three dudes) has already threatened to drag me behind his pickup truck if I ever ate any of our work's food without paying for it. Not really what I'm into.

saw THIS crooked ass motherfucker at the Santa Barbara Zoo this weekend. Gemini the Giraffe. some birth defect made it's neck grow all fucked. adorable!
 bigger (not as good) picture
these adorable asian elephants. they were way buddy buddy!
some way cute meerkats. zoe considered stuffing one into her purse and we totally could've done it. dudes were so cute. i smushed a penny in one of those penny-smusher machines and turned it into a Meerkat. Los Meerkats!
-------------
i got a drinking related ticket for my first time like a month ago. open container! made a mixed drink in a water bottle at a party, heard there was a party "down the street" and while walking there the cops stopped me and smelled whiskey in my bottle. $200 ticket! heard it was going to be $250, but they only charged me $200. don't know whether i'm thankful or not for that.
i'm working a lot and rarely go out anymore. cut my drinking down by like 87%. waking up early. weird for me. work's alright though. i'm back on my feet financially. paid off all my shit, so now i'm just saving up to move out again.
